Flexible Funding Leaders Cohort

Through insight from guest speakers and galvanizing case studies, this cohort will connect foundation senior leaders with a supportive group of peers to learn about and discuss the utility and applicability of different types, lengths, and structures of grants on your strategy and overall impact. Participants will grapple with common barriers, gain practical tips, and set and pursue goals related to maximizing the flexibility of funding at your organization.

Eight virtual sessions will include presentation of research on data-backed practices, funder examples, guest speakers, and structured time for discussion, reflection, and peer-supported learning and coaching. Participants will be assigned a peer partner for the duration of the cohort who will serve as a resource and support outside of scheduled sessions.

We will meet monthly January through October 2024, with two breaks during which participants will have one-on-one peer partner meetings.

The utility and success of the learning cohort depends on meaningful participation from each member. So that we can foster a strong group, have fruitful conversations, and best support members in their work, we ask that each participant join with the intention of attending each of the eight sessions.

Please confirm your availability for proposed session dates before registering.

Group Rates: Participants are strongly encouraged to join with at least one colleague, and in groups as large as three per foundation, to facilitate implementation of change at your organization. Each participant should have some responsibility for influencing or implementing strategy, and at least one participant should have a senior leadership role at the organization. If you plan to register with one or more colleagues, please contact CEP (abradley[at]cep.org) for a code to receive a discount off each registrant’s fee. This can be combined with other discounts. Each participant will need to register separately using the discount code.

Refunds: Group cohesion is a key part of the peer learning experience. To encourage full participation, refunds will be offered on a case-by-case basis, generally only for medical or family emergencies that prevent the registrant from attending six or more of the eight sessions.
